PVU 4.0 - PVE Mechanics & Facts

plantvsundead.substack.com

Dear PVUers,

After a long time awaited, finally the PVE Mode will be live in update v4.0, which will be available at the end of May, 2022.

In light of this awesome news, we want to prepare the community with some basic knowledge about how the game would be played – so brace yourself for a storm of numbers and facts!

1. Element and Type

Each Undead and Plant now belong to a type and an element. While the elements mostly tell you what they can do – the type will be the key factor in determining the resistances against each element in the game.

As the chart above demonstrated, an Undead type is very important as knowing what kind of elements it resists the most will surely change the outcome of a battle.

While each Undead might belong to a different type, all the NFT Plants belong to the Flora type by default – which makes all Plants share the same resistance chart.

2. Buff and Debuff

As the battle goes on, the sheer number of calculations of stats will gradually become boring – and thus, we want to add another spice to the game.

Alongside damaging skills, some (if not almost) of the skills in the game will apply additional effects:

Buff: positive effects that generally enhance self/allies' combat prowess and/ or survivability

  • Amped: Increases ATK and default attack damage

  • Bulked: Increases DEF and grants damage resistance

  • Haste: Increases attack speed

  • Fleet: Increases movement speed

  • Warded: Increases all elemental resistances

  • Regen: Restores HP over time and enhances the healing power

Debuff: negative effects that range from lower enemy stats and/ or hinder their abilities

  • Burn: Inflicts damage over time and neutralizes the target’s FIRE resistance

  • Poison: Inflicts damage over time and reduces the target’s overall damage

  • Bleed: Inflicts damage over time and deals direct damage if the target receives any extra source of damage

  • Slow: Reduces movement speed

  • Feeble: Reduces attack speed

  • Impaired: Reduces ATK

  • Broken: Reduces DEF

  • Blind: Grants a chance to miss on default attacks

  • Silence: Stops the target from using skills

  • Disarmed: Stops the target from using default attacks

  • Stun: Completely neutralizes the target

  • Fire/ Water/ Ice/ Wind/ Thunder/ Earth/ Plant/ Dark Blight: Reduces the resistance of corresponding elements

3. Undead Gallery

Name: Drockwyrm

Type: Dragon

Element: Earth

Role: Tanker | Physical Damage Dealer

A fearsome predator lurking around the rocky mountains. It possesses unparallel strength which can easily break rocks and boulders with mere slams, and since its body is covered by sturdy carapaces from head to tail, its defensive power is also unquestionable. Adepts of close and personal combats, Drockwyrns are ideal as frontline tankers – as it can sponge attacks from the enemy easily and deal severe damage back in turn.

Skill Set:

  • Prima Shell [Level 1] - When its HP is high, sustains less damage from all sources

  • Feralism [Level 10] – Grants Lifesteal and also replenishes HP upon felling enemy units

  • Stone Carapace [Level 25] – Increases DEF and reflects some of taken damage back to attackers

  • Horn Slam [Level 40] – Tackles and hurls the closest enemy unit, dealing heavy damage

  • Mad Charge [Level 55] – Rushes forward, knocking all enemies on its path, dealing damage and inflicting Stun effect

  • Scale Shed [Level 70] – Revives after being killed with a massive boost to ATK in exchange for the complete abandon of DEF

Name: Wailforce

Type: Beast

Element: Ice

Role: Assault Leader

While its stats seem to be inferior to other Stage 3 Undeads, Wailforce makes it up by its wicked intellect and the strength of its packs. As an Alpha leader, it possesses strategic wit as well as powerful claws and fangs to shred the enemy into pieces.

Skill Set:

  • Razor Fang [Level 1] – Default attacks have a chance to deal extra damage and inflicts Bleeding status

  • Freezing Fang [Level 10] – Default attacks have a chance to deal extra damage and inflicts Feeble status

  • Atomic Phase [Level 25] – Grants a chance to evade default attacks

  • Empowering Howl [Level 38] – Enchances ATK and movement speed of nearby allies

  • Demoralizing Howl [Level 53] – Inflicts Slow and Broken statues to nearby enemies

  • Lethal Lunge [Level 66] – Lunges at an enemy from afar, dealing severe damage and has a chance to insta-kill it

Name: Drusgartt

Type: Avian

Element: Wind

Role: Spellcaster | Disruptor

This night hunter is a threat to even the most fearsome Undeads, as it can move silently within the darkness and attack its foe with unforgiving spells. Possessing high attacking power and a long-ranged attack only make the matter worse, as only a few species can actually retaliate against this nocturnal creature without being killed in the first place.

Skill Set:

  • Fling [Level 1] – Flings a magical orb from long distance, dealing damage and inflicting Stun status

  • Silent Sound [Level 10] – Grants immunity to Silence status

  • Gust [Level 25] – Blasts out a tornado dealing damage to enemy units on its path and knocks them back

  • Mind Control [Level 39] – Take control of an enemy unit, making it fights against its allies

  • Deafening Sonic [Level 57] – Dealing heavy damage to a large area, inflicting Imparied and Feeble statuses

  • Aerial Slash [Level 72] – Default attacks have a chance to deal direct damage and inflicts Bleeding status

That’s all we have to share for the upcoming update v4.0 and the PVE Mode. We hope these knowledge help the community to understand more about the game and what to prepare to have a stronger start when 4.0 lands.

In order to give the users an upper hand, another Offering Event will be opened at the end of May, 2022. The main focus of this Offering Event orients around NFT Spell cards and Stage 2 Plants, both can be used immediately right into the PVE Mode.

We sincerely thank you for the long-term support, PVU Community.

Cheers!
